You could call the Border Counties Historic Commercial Vehicle Club the Heavy
Metal Brigade of the transport world. They gather at the Ludlow Brewing
Company, conveniently near the railway station, and serve sandwiches to go with

the fine ales served there. All very friendly and polite, they are mainly men still
involved with transport who grew up driving what are now regarded as
collectors’ vehicles. This month’s meeting is all about Pre 1939 Leyland lorries
and you can expect some good historic photos to go along with the stories of those

days before motorways and the hard work of hauling a big load up country.
